 
Purpose behind the establishment of Japan Expanded Polystyrene Recycling Association
 Expanded polystyrene is very useful as a packaging material and is quite often utilized for packaging fishery products and household appliances.
However, unless it is properly recycled at the end of its usage it is difficult to use this material with peace of mind.
Manufacturers of expanded polystyrene have been collecting and recycling expanded polystyrene from the early 1970s. Japan Expanded Polystyrene Recycling Association was founded in May 1991 in order to further progress this trend.
